There are so many interesting skills for kids on Alexa. This is probably the most creative and varied category. I find it great that most of these skills bridge the gap between the virtual world and the real world. Voice is a great way for kids to interact with technology with out any screen time.
Lemonade Stand by Mark Einhorn – 4.3 out of 5, 786 ratings, 168 reviews
This game skill pays homage to one of the earliest computer games, “Lemonade stand”. This version is completely redone from the ground up, attempting to enhance but maintain the spirit of the original game in a voice-only experience.
Random review: the game is grate, but when it hears something else it needs to let you go back on the number it heard. sometimes it hears a big number when you say a small one. Ive said 50 and not sure what it heard but i had no money after it asked for signs. (4 out of 5)
Animal Workout by For Jack & Jill – 4.4 out of 5, 925 ratings, 106 reviews
Animal Workout allows kids to become different animals while getting exercise. Alexa will offer up encouraging words as they go along to also boost motivation and confidence.
Random
review: Uses a real actor’s voice to
instruct the kids. Kids get to imagine being all the different animals and are
instructed to do a specific movement or activity for each animal. And the
narrator gives interesting facts about all the animals. Educational and
motivational. (5 out of 5)

Random review: i can’t review properly because it will not play. it says “i can’t do that” or it repeatedly tells me to enable the skill. i have it enabled. i dont know what else to do at this point. alexa has been incredibly disappointing. it can’t answer or do much of anything. (1 out of 5)
Freeze Dancers by Pretzel Labs – 4 out of 5, ratings, 129 reviews
Alexa tells your kids to dance in wacky ways and freeze when the music stops. If they’re on a sugar rush or just having a crazy indoor day, open Freeze Dancers and let them go on and on and on.
Random review: Sounded like a great game–but it will only play the test song and then freezes and never starts again. 🙁 (1 out of 5)

Kids Court by Pretzel Labs – 4.3 out of 5, 284 ratings, 100 reviews
Send the kids to Kids Court and let Judge Lexy decide. While you rest, they will learn some basic facts about the US judicial system. They will learn to present their cases coherently and speak up for themselves. And when they don’t listen to YOU, take them to court and watch THEM execute crazy verdicts!
Random review: Very original and useful idea for a skill! It walks kids who have beef with one another through a “trial”, allowing the “defendant” and “prosecutor” to present evidence and call witnesses. I especially like that when Judge Lexi renders sentence, it ensures everything will end on a cheerful and probably laughter-filled note. (5 out of 5)
Scooby Doo! Mystery Inc. Theater by Warner Bros. – 4.1 out of 5, 339 ratings, 48 reviews
Put on your detective hat and experience the spooks and sounds of Scooby Doo! Mystery Inc. Theater. This interactive storytelling experience puts you in control as you choose where and how the story unfolds.
Random review: Ok, this is the cutest thing ever. We played this as a part of our family Halloween party with the kids. Super fun and in classic Scooby style, not scary, just the right amount of campy-spooky. Seriously way better than watching a movie, especially since my kids are still pretty little. Love it! Kids Quiz! by Matchbox.io – 4.5 out of 5, 798 ratings, 40 reviews
Kids Quiz poses fun new questions everyday for children ages 5-12, from animals and science to brainteasers and fun facts.
Random review: The game is seriously great, but my 6 year old was very upset when she moved on so quickly after giving the answer options. My son is ADHD so it takes him some time to listen and respond. He knew the answer, but after about 5 seconds she repeats the question. If he still can’t answer in time, she closes the game. I just feel a better idea would be to allow the user to set the amount of time to answer (10, 20, 30 seconds). Otherwise, great skill! (5 out of 5)
