Top 10 social Amazon Alexa skills (September 2019)

Amazon Alexa market Social Top skills

There is an extremely important lesson to learn from the random review for Ask my Buddy. We shouldn’t suggests (implicitly or explicitly) that skills can be used in life or death situations (at least not for now). This is an important limitation of voice interfaces that should be considered when developers write skill descriptions.

That half of the top social skills simulate a sort of intimacy between the user and the Alexa device also highlight a certain loneliness and deep longing for connection that seems to pervade our society (or at least some Alexa users).

Random review: I really like having this with Alexa, it is an awesome additional to an already great apps. But, please allow us to turn off the Alexa notifications! My home is lit with seemingly never ending yellow-ring-flashing units as my family comes and goes often.Yes, I can tell Alexa to clear it, but that isn’t the point: it never seems to end because people are always coming and going!I’ve given up and just bask in the warm glow of yellow, pulsing, LEDs. (please make it stop, please?) (3 out of 5)

The Instagram Stories by DanielHillMedia – 5 out of 5, 18 reviews

The Instagram Stories is dedicated to keeping you informed about Instagram, giving you the latest news stories every single day.
Random review: Daniel Hill’s voice came to me this morning as I was listening to Alexa deliver “flash briefing”. I was choosing what types of things Id enjoy hearing or knowing first thing, last night, and I found “the instagram stories”. I wasnt sure exactly what it would be, as to whether or not it would be a centralized highlighting of the instagram feed from me, or who, or what? Daniels voice was relaxed, calm, confident, and pleasurable to hear as he discussed, the question of the day, “how to get 1 billion instagram followers and the differences between business and persononal IG accounts. He described the often uselessness of quantity versus quality”. Id certainly look forward to hearing more from you. I provided my address, so we can continue to communicate more, if interested.
