There aren’t many popular shopping skills (why it’s only the top 5, not top 10), but the brands that are properly leverage voice are adding value for their customers. I’m especially curious to see whether subscription service will integrate with Alexa’s “subscription” in-skill purchase. For example, a tea subscription skill that sends customers new tea each week and provides content on the tea’s origin (interview with the grower, etc) and a steeping timer. Ultimately, the shopping category is still underdeveloped and it will surely grow in interesting ways as stores and brands adopt voice as an innovative way to provide them value.
