The most interesting thing on this page is that Send Me a Sample is wildly more popular in the UK than in the US. Looking at the review though, I wonder if people love the idea of the skill or actually had a good experience with the skill. I feel like the former could be the case with many other top rated skill…
In terms of use cases, shopping lists rule this category. I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw a Wholefoods skill soon, integrating the shopping list with an Amazon brand. This would allow users to order and receive their groceries without ever looking at a device.

????????Bring! Shopping List by Bring! Labs AG – 4.2 out of 5, 140 ratings, 36 reviews
Planning and managing your grocery shopping is a breeze with the new Alexa skill.
Random review:
Works poorly. I love the Bring! app on my phone. Use it regularly for shopping
with the family so everyone can add things. So having Alexa integration was
awesome, if it would work!
Had no problem syncing it to my main grocery list (no idea how to pick a
different list to add things too appropriate list. Here’s an idea, have a command to List my
lists, so I know what Alexa calls them).
Hassle to open. Have to say “Alexa,
open Bring!”, she says “welcome to bring, how can I help” ,then
after each item is added she has to talk more.
Keep the skill open forever. I
installed if for a reason. I should just be able to say “Alexa, add milk
to my list” without activating a skill EVERY time.
But I could live with this, but the kicker, Bring! constantly gets it
wrong. Alexa understands my voice fairly
well, but for some reason, Bring! gets the item wrong 6 out of 10 times. I say something clearly, and she adds some
obscure item. If it is wrong, I have no way
of removing and re-speaking it. I ALWAYS
end up opening the phone app to correct the misunderstandings, or to verify she
understood.
I really want this skill to work. It is
a great skill in theory, and I keep trying hoping it will improve, but after
weeks and weeks of using it, I decided it was time to write a review.
Bring! Labs…. PLEASE fix this!
Make her talk less,
Allow me to delete last entry. If I say
“delete” right after she repeats the entry, would be nice, because
she is wrong SO often.
Give option to read the list (even things added previously from the phone app)
Provide some instructions. I’m just
guessing on this Alexa skill. Need a
“help” command.
2 stars is being generous, only because I like the idea of this and hope it
will get fixed. (2 out of 5)
????????Carter’s Customer Service by Carter’s – 4 out of 5, 57 ratings, 11 reviews
Use Alexa to ask questions about all your Carter’s, OshKosh B’gosh or Skip Hop orders. Get status updates any time you like with the voice-activated convenience you love from Alexa.
Random review: I just placed another order for a few tshirts for Valentine’s Day for my Grandchildren. Almost all of the clothes I buy them and my grandnieces and nephews are from Carters. The quality is awesome and the styles are adorable! I shop frequently for my babes and it seems that everything I buy is on sale, which is amazing! Fortunately, I shop so much I am constantly getting reward money – which I immediately use to order new things. And did I mention the Holiday clothes? There is always a large selection for every Holiday! Can you tell I love Carters? (5 out of 5)
????????Ocado by Ocado Ltd – 4.4 out of 5, 975 ratings, 92 reviews
Shop while you cook! If you run out of garlic, say “Alexa, ask Ocado to add garlic.” No need to check out again: we’ll add it to your next order automatically.
Random review: I absolutely love this skill! As a busy working Mum, this makes life easier. To set the scene…I’m busy cooking dinner, preparing pack lunches and putting a load of washing on. I’ve chopped the last onion, realised I only have enough bread for 2 days lunches and am running low on softener. In my head I would make a mental note to buy these things…and then forget. Not now, whilst standing in the kitchen chopping the onion I can call out to Alexa to add more onions to my basket. Whilst buttering the bread, I ask Alexa to add more bread – she’s found granary or white in my favourites, which would I like?? I also love the fact it works both ways, for example if I’ve already added onions, she’ll tell me I already have them in my basket and would I like to add more. This is certainly one of my favourite skills. (5 out of 5)
????????Morrisons by Morrisons – 4.3 out of 5, 239 ratings, 34 reviews
The new way to shop Morrisons online – now you can shop for ingredients just by asking Alexa to add items to your basket.
Random review: Just kidding this is as much fun as a fortnight at the dentist. Amazon this is your gig, fix or bump Morrisons off. You’re complicit in giving false hope (a bit like me i suppose) FINGER OUT PLEASE. (1 out of 5)
????????Bring! Shopping List by Bring! Labs AG – 4.4 out of 5, 200 ratings, 30 reviews
Planning and managing your grocery shopping is a breeze with the new Alexa skill.
Random review: I’ve been using Bring on our iPhones for a while and was really hoping they would bring this to the Echo which they have.
It works perfectly and instantly updates the shopping list on the iPhones.
Don’t understand the other reviews complaining about the voice recognition as that’s down to Amazon, Bring are only making use of the AI that’s provided. Works every time for myself, my wife and our children whenever we need to add something to the shopping list.
Icing on the cake would be the ability to add a recipe template all at once, Bring, over to you! (5 out of 5)
