Many of these skills can be found in other categories. This is largely a mix of top skills from the music and communication categories, with a few flash briefings and novelty skills thrown in.
I’m surprised there isn’t a pomodoro skill dominating this category. Looking at the data, it seems as though there are only 4 skills that mention “pomodoro”. I could see a sound skill with an integrated pomodoro timer do very well in this category!
Find My Phone by www.opearlo.com – 4.3 out of 5, 15552 ratings, 3014 reviews
Find My Phone allows you to easily call your lost phone from Alexa! Now supports adding other numbers!
Random review: I like the app. It simply calls my misplaced phone. I do not like being charged to use it. I will uninstall the skill and ask Alexa to call my phone number. I feel that the developer should detail cost on the skill page so that we could choose not to waste our time installing the skill.I do support the right of the developer to charge I do not support the lack of telling the customer’s of the intent to charge.I would not have wasted my time. Relaxing Sounds: Morning Music by Voice Games – 4.9 out of 5, ratings, 1632 reviews
Morning Music for positive thinking and vitality, relaxation songs to start the day. This is the perfect musical accompaniment for meditation, yoga, healing and complete relaxation.
Random review: I would give this 2-3 stars but it keeps asking for a five star review which is really annoying. Not sure if it will play if you don’t. TIP: Look up Dan Gibson’s Solitudes in Prime Music, find some albums you like and request that. It has nature sounds in background too! (1 out of 5)
Mastermind by Convessa, Inc. – 4.2 out of 5, 1477 ratings, 1223 reviews
Mastermind lets you send SMS text messages & emails, initiate phone calls, ring your phone, share your location, search for places, search the web, launch Google Maps navigation, access apps on your phone, get your calendar and much more.
Random review: One request please. I leave my echo signed in to my Amazon account at all times; however, when I’m not at home, I don’t want other people to have access to my text messages. Would it be possible have an enable/disable button in The Mastermind Android app that could be disabled when we leave home either manually or automatically based on location? (5 out of 5)
Good Night by Stoked Skills LLC – 4.4 out of 5, 3269 ratings, 556 reviews
Sleeping alone tonight? You are never alone when Alexa is beside you. Wish Alexa a good night and she will respond right back!
Random review: This skill is simple and nice. Basically just what you want. Except… as you’re trying to lull to sleep and say goodnight, you get the little response followed by a 15 second equivalent of yelling “leave a review and smash that like button!!!1!”. Obviously this ruins the good night mood. Removing the review begging would make this a 4-5 star skill. (2 out of 5)
Ask My Buddy by Beach.Dev – 4.6 out of 5, 641 ratings, 630 reviews
Ask My Buddy helps you ask for assistance using only your voice – and – makes it easy to let your contacts know you are doing ok.
Random review: Great. Love the ability to notify people for help when I need it. I live alone with no family in my area. I can yell out and get help. Have medical condition where I fall a lot and didn’t want one of those pendants and don’t always carry my cell phone around the house. I live in one story home that is small and open concept so Alexa can hear me from most any where. Thanks Ask My Buddy! (5 out of 5)
Inspire Me by MerryOscar – 4.6 out of 5, 670 ratings, 457 reviews
Start your day with inspirational audio from Alexa!
Random review: I love the inspirational quotes…but the volume is a little low, so I have to turn Alexa up a 7 or 8 to hear it, which is too loud for everyday use. Another feature I’d love to see is a repeat if what I just heard and who it was from, because when simething is really good you want to hear it again and again! “Alexa, say that again!!” (4 out of 5)
Rain Storm for Healing by Healing.fm – 4.9 out of 5, ratings, 480 reviews
Rain Storm features heavy rain with a distant thunderstorm. This skill is perfect for meditation and self-healing.
Random review: A surprisingly smooth, crisp and accurate sound. It’s rare I find natural sounds so clear via audio but this one feels as though you just opened the window on a late summers afternoon, as distant thunder can be heard in the background. Additionally, the sound does not loop every 30 seconds like many audio natural sounds, as it is generally frustrating listening to the same recorded sounds over and over in a short period of time. With “Rain Storm,” I have been unable to hear any looping what-so-ever. So, if you’re looking for that perfect sound to either help you fall asleep or take a refreshing nap, this is the one. You won’t be disappointed! (5 out of 5)

Nag My Kids by To the Reader, Inc. – 4 out of 5, 2035 ratings, 25 reviews
If your kids are anything like mine, then you’re probably pretty tired of telling them to do the same things over and over again. Fortunately, now Alexa can nag your kids to do the things they should be doing.
Random review: Nice idea, and it’s actually something i’ve been wanting so alexa would nag me!I’d love to see ability to customize this to individual nagging needs instead of predetermined phrases.Plus, it would be far more helpful to me if this app could be tied to a calendar so that you wouldnt have to remember to check your itinerary, which i often forget to do.An example might be:Alexa “nag me” (the wake phrase).Alexa would then begin a series of questions just like is done for setting up a calendar event in Google, except, that you could tell Alexa when to verbally start to nag you about an event, such as starting at 5pm nag me to go to the gym every 15 minutes until 6pm or until i turn off the “nag” alarm.Plus, having Alexa repeat what you just basically said in earshot of your kids is probably going to wear off and be ignored.Having the delayed “nagging”; set up just like an alarm or calendar event would help you not to worry about needing to be around to nag them so you can get on to work.Just a thought.
