Top health and wellness Amazon Alexa Skills (US+UK, October 2019)

Amazon Alexa market health and fitness Top skills

We’re launching a new feature this week! Instead of looking exclusively at the top US skills, we’re also taking a look at the UK Alexa marketplace’s top skills. We also feature a small number of top skills (who has time to look at 20 skills?!). However, turns out the top 10 skills are fairly similar, but in a different order.

The most interesting skill in this category is by far the Reebok Sneaker Drop (you can read more about it on voicebot.ai). It’s great that Reebok would try something so innovative and I’m sure their skill gets a good amount of user engagement if there’s the chance of a free pair of shoes.Hopefully this will encourage other brands to use voice as a marketing channel! Because of voice’s relatively low rating/review volume, brands that leverage their existing marketing channels can quickly dominate categories.

???????? Reebok Sneaker Drop by Magic + Co. – 4.3 out of 5, 503 ratings, 29 reviews

At Reebok, we believe in pushing creative boundaries and challenging the status quo. Now, we bring that same bold commitment to our new Amazon Alexa skill, Reebok Sneaker Drop.
Random review: This was awesome waited for the sneaker drop.countdown came opened up Alexa during  the drop. And I actually won a pair of club c talk about legit (5.0 out of 5)

???????? Sugarmate by Sugarmate Inc. 4.5 out of 5 – 236 ratings, 36 reviews

This skill allows you to ask Alexa about your latest glucose readings from a Dexcom CGM. If you have a display device (like an Echo Show or Spot), it will also show a graph of your latest readings.
Random review: Great skill. For the Alexa SHOW they should update the skill so 1) the current BG reading is viewable in A LARGE NUMBER on the screen and 2) show the default graph and UI from the app. It would be so useful for the diabetes community, parents in particular. You could just glance at the screen instead of having to pick up your phone. (5.0 out of 5)

???????? 7-Minute Workout by Pargee – 4.3 out of 5, 2 ratings, 384 reviews
???????? 4.2 out of 5, 451 ratings, 80 reviews

Welcome to the new 7-Minute Workout. This revolutionary workout experience has been built from the ground up to offer more variety, more control, and over 45 new exercises to better help you achieve your fitness goals.
Random review: Great app, that allows me to conveniently complete the 7 minute workout.  After reading some other reviews, there are some workarounds to the issues.  If you don’t want to hear the intro you can immediately say immediately say “Alexa Ready”.  This works for all stages of the workout.  I get tired of hearing the introductions so I just say Alexa Ready to begin.  Also,l if you never respond when she asks you if you’re ready, that is the equivalent to pausing.  It will exit the app, but you can just tell her to begin workout and it will take you where you left off.  There are some quirks, but its a great App that I’ve been using since January and it is incredibly easy to have Alexa guide me through it. ???????? 5-Minute Plank Workout by cubic.ai – 4.4 out of 5, 373 ratings, 263 reviews

5-minute plank workout. 6 sets with short rests between them.
Random review: I try to do this everyday and it’s really helpful. I like how it breaks it up for you, which makes it not seem so tough. I also appreciate that it’s only5 minutes, but I feel like it has a genuine impact. The short 5 minute workout makes me want to do it because I know it’s brief- why wouldn’t you just take the 5 minutes to do it? It’s great. (4.0 out of 5)

???????? Relaxing Sounds: Spa Music by Ektara – 5 out of 5, 2542 ratings, 2540 reviews

Spa Music will put you at peace. It will help you create your own spa experience and rejuvenate your body, mind and spirit. Perfect musical accompaniment for meditation, yoga, healing and complete relaxation.
Random review: Load this to Alexa the second time you ask for spa music to play Alexa tells you it’s free only if you give a 5 star review.
Honestly if you start this I will not be using your products. This only gives false information. Is it legal, I know amazon have been told to regulate this.
What do I get for free giving you a 5 Star
Actually truth is you never play spa music after asking about 3 times for some reason you want to play everything but spa music. Then when it does eventually play it’s very much the same, yes I know it’s supposed to be relaxing but it’s quite annoying with the same drone going for ever in the background.
I will be looking for another spa, tranquil music on Alexa.
TRUE RATING WOULD BE 2 STAR.  take away 3 stars for the misunderstanding when being asked to play “spa music”  and  if I ask for next, to be played she will not do so unless I give a 5 Star review. So can’t comment on any more. (5 out of 5)

???????? Sleep Sounds by Invoked Apps LLC – 4.7 out of 5, 575 ratings, 573 reviews

Sleep Sounds plays calming sound loops to help you fall asleep faster, sleep better, relax, meditate, or drown out distracting noises.
